Metropolitan Construction is a Maryland- based construction contracting firm, with professionals who have provided quality work for the past 15 years. Our primary services include painting, drywall, and general contracting. We work on multi-million dollar projects however, our local operations allow us to address smaller-scale contracts. Derrick Henderson

Derrick started Metropolitan Construction, LLC with over 15 years of experience in the area of construction and construction contracting management. As president of the company, he oversees the commercial construction department and overall business development of the company.

Maurice Scott

Vice President

Maurice Scott

As Vice President of the company, he oversees field operations. Prior to Metropolitan Construction, Maurice ran his own trucking company, running containers in and out the Port of Baltimore since 2007. In addition to running his trucking company, Maurice dabbled in the Real Estate business part time creating another stream of income.

David Morris

Project Manager

David Morris

Born and raised in Baltimore, MD David received his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineering Degree right after graduation in 2000. Soon thereafter he found himself working in the construction field for the family owned concrete company. Starting off learning the job as a laborer,
He worked his way up to Project Manager for the southern PA division of the company. While he enjoyed his time working for the family business and the invaluable lessons they taught , David wanted new opportunities and growth in the construction field. David joined the Metropolitan Construction Team as a Project Manager in April of 2017.

Walter Young

Director of Finance

Walter Young

Walter attended The George Washington School of Business in pursuit of a Master of Accountancy degree in August of 2016. Fortunately, he was granted the opportunity to join Metropolitan Construction in October 2016 as an intern.
Due to his strong work ethic and determination and willingness to learn, Walter was promoted at the start of 2017 to the role of Finance Director for the company. He is responsible for overseeing all of the finances for the company: making sure that accounts receivables and payables are aligned as best as possible, prepares budgets and expense reports for on-going projects and analyzes these reports to identify where the company can improve for future projects.

Devin Crandol

Estimator

Devin Crandol

Originally from Detroit, Devin relocated to North Carolina before attending The University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. In 2012 during his junior year of college he began working part time as an assistant superintendent before transitioning into a project manager/estimator after college.
Looking to break away from the family business and escape the rural lifestyle of North Carolina he relocated to Baltimore and took a job as a project engineer for a large commercial construction company. After a year he had a desire to learn more and be more than just a small fish in a big pool. Soon after his search Metropolitan Construction offered him not only a position as a project estimator but also the opportunity to experience growth through a business development role as well.

Jerome Howard

Director of Acquisitions

Jerome Howard

Jerome, Director of Acquisitions for The Metropolitan Group llc, is responsible for acquiring distressed real estate throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan area and securing the funding for the projects. Day to day duties include working with a hand picked team of realtors to find new opportunities, meeting with potential lenders, building relationships with investors and homeowners, strategizing on different marketing techniques to drive more inbound business, going out in the field closely watching the projects through completion to create a strategy for the outbound sales.
